Leaking Poker Funds

Jordan Greene

February, 22

It’s time to look at the world of pro poker for another fun life lesson.

It was recently written that Phil Hellmuth lost more than $21,000 betting on the Super Bowl. According to a tweet from Phil Hellmuth’s Twitter account, Hellmuth lost eight out of the eight bets he placed on the game.

Hellmuth is not alone in his sports bet losses. There are easily dozens of poker pros who enjoy moonlighting with other types of gambling, whether its craps, sports betting, or even rock-paper-scissor for money.

It’s easy for us poker players to fall into the traps of sports betting and other types of gambling. Thankfully, we have people like Hellmuth to remind us that even the poker player with the most WSOP bracelets ever can fall victim to bad bets on non-poker games. Remember folks, play responsibly, and play Pokerist
