What? More WSOP action?! It’s true!
Event #44, a $1,000 NLHE event, recently wrapped up with Rocco Palumbo winning the bracelet and over $450,000 after beating a field of 2,949 players, making this the biggest open event of the 2012 WSOP thus far (the Senior’s Event had more players, but is not open to all players). With such a large field and low buy-in, it was no surprise that the final table featured a slew of amateur and unknown players.
In stark contrast, Event #45, the $50,000 buy-in Poker Players Championship, featuring an eight game rotation, was packed full of big name pros, and has reached its final table, which features Michael Mizrachi, Andy Bloch, Steven Chidwick, and Bill Chen, amongst other pros.
Finally, while Event #45 has yet to play its final table, Event #46, a $2,500 NLHE event, wrapped up, with Joey Weissman winning his first bracelet and almost $700,000.
