WSOP Update: Event #45

July 2, 2012 Jordan Greene Poker World

Michael “the Grinder” Mizrachi made history on June 28, 2012 by becoming the first player ever to win the $50,000 Poker Player’s Championship twice. Mizrachi beat a star studded final table which included Andy Bloch, Steve Chidwick, Luke Schwartz and Bill Chen, amongst others. For his win, Mizrachi banked more than $1,450,000, moving himself to 4th place in the all time money leader board.

Mizrachi first won the event in 2010, for over $1,500,000 and his first bracelet. His wins are notable insofar as the Player’s Championship is widely regarded amongst pros as the event to decide the year’s most skilled player. The event features a mix of poker games, and it’s high buy-in ensures that it has a field made up of only the best of the best (and a few rich amateurs).
