Raymer Wins HPT Tournament

August 2, 2012 Jordan Greene Poker World

The Heartland Poker Tour recently held its first event since the Epic Poker bankruptcy, and it was WSOP 2004 Main Event Champion Greg “the Fossilman” Raymer taking the top spot for slightly less than $72,000 in the $1,500 buy-in tournament. The tournament was held at the Route 66 Casino Hotel in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The emergence of Raymer is also good publicity for the mid-stakes tournament series. This particular event will be featured in the HPT’s 200th episode.

The win marks Raymer’s biggest win since the 2009 WSOP, where he won $774,927 by placing 3rd in a $40,000 buy-in NLHE event. He has earned more than $7,000,000 in lifetime poker tournament winnings.
